SMS's ... e-mails ... its 38 and wow ... wee ... love heading over to the 40's ... wOOw ... honestly its super cool to be all growned up ... ;)) ... though my mum absolutely refuses to believe that it is even remotely possible ... and my daughter adds more fuel to that darn fire ... :) ... my brother still calls me chotu  ... while my daughter gets to be his big girl.... eeeeeevvvvvverytime ... :(

Of textures and styling at home ... finding place for your ... "me" things ... :)

One of the first few hurdles, most encounter when it comes to designing your home ... is the political correctness of the things we have around. It is surely one thing to fall in love with all those gorgeous pictures and save them in your inspiration file or repin them on to your pinterest folders ...

... its quite a different ball game when it comes to picking accents or simply put, 'finding a place' for your fav. things in your home ...

 

... a simple litmus test to check what you got going in your home ...

#  I put that on my wall, cause ... that's what they say your wall should have ... OR  ... I put it there cause it may be weird for others, but I love it and damn it ... it's my home, folks ... ;))

#  I got that on my coffee table, cause that's what's trendy these days ... OR ... its been something very close to me ... I just love the way it looks ... its so me ... I love to see it around ... :))

... for no particular reason ... other than the weather beaten saying ... ' home is where the heart is' ... and on a wee ... bit of a philosophical note ... I don't think that dear heart cares for logic ... it feels what it feels ... along with all sorts of funny feels ... ;)

 

 

... so next time you see some one who has a weird lil' thing happening in their home decor ... know that it is a commendable job to follow your heart ... and do a revisit ...  to that inspiration file of yours ... may be some new addditions are waiting for you to go click ... click ... :) ... copy ... paste ... save ... save ... :)
And then to give a thought to your lil' precious things ... a framer or a carpenter could be waiting to help you ... :)

... on a whim I 'd love to share this picture of mine ... not sure why I love it ... but I love it a lot. Wouldn't be able to rate it very high on technicality points. Sure loads of my photographer friends would be nodding in unison ... but there's some whole other reason I think I love it for ... for the last collection of our textiles that we showcased ... I wanted to use pom-poms for a few cushions  ... and again on a whim ... I cut up a whole crinkled shibori piece ... and spent a good part of a night trying out diff. ways to make pom-poms out of shibori ... :) This was an early morning shot ... focus was an issue ... not sure cause I was groggy ... or did I shoot without my specs on ... ;)) ... ( I do that often and then curse the darn camera for not being able to focus where I need it to ) ... or may be the excitement of all that I did ovenight was too much and I just went click ... click ... click ... not really sure what I was shootingor where to focus ... just had to have it for the record ... :))
I though I'd share it on the blog some day ... so guess ... today is just that day ... for the love of sweet lil' nothings ... :)

Please keep in your garden/veranda/terrace/window sill..a large, shallow, earthen pot with clean water for birds.

Birds need water to drink (especially in summer) and to have a bath. Change the water everyday. Clean the vessel every week. Additionally, you could keep out some bird seed--bajra, broken rice, puffed rice..to make their job easier.

The bonus is a lot of birds you didn't know existed in your neighbourhood, will come visiting--i have counted about 20 species in two days, from my table..

please leave a deeper pot/vessel outside your gates, for stray dogs--who die of thirst in their heat..

As the summer heat made its presence felt ... was I was looking for this banner we put up every summer ... and my sweetheart friend Prerna is always there ...trust her to be more prompt in sending out the reminder ... thanks Prerna.

 ... this is a complete ... cribbing ... complaining ... post ... some where underneath this is my worktable ... :)))))) ... o.k hold on I am really trying my best to crib and complain here ... look at all the workload ...

 ... just arrived ... are  ... our new Ipad covers ... waiting to get those vintage embelishments... to be completely ready ... :) ahhh! work I tell you ... look at that pile ... ;)

 ... and then look at this ... WOOOOOOOOOOW ! ... Suzani ... weeeee... heeee ... I spread it out ... hugged it ... rolled over it ... screamed with joy ... ok. major failure at complaining ... :) ... gosh! so if you find me missing in action over here everynow and then ... don't worry ... I 'm fine ... you just saw all the things I got to do ... my thinking cap on ... we and me in complete take off mode ... ah! for the joy of new thingies to design ... :)
